Your local police department (LPD) must be a Paws QuiVive TM (PQV) service user* with a dedicated mobile phone number to receive SMS Alerts from PQV.
If a Paws QuiVive Notify-LPD Subscriber does not respond to a wellness-check alert in allotted time frame, the Non-Response SMS from PQV sent to LPD will contain: notification of non-response, user address & contact information; ICE contact name & phone.
Paws QuiVive subscribers who wish to enable the Notify Local Police Department option on the app must first contact their Local Police Department to determine if their LPD is a PQV service user. If their LPD is a Paws QuiVive user, the LPD will provide PQV users with the Police Department Contact name and dedicated LPD mobile number (for SMS alerts) to enter into the PQV app.
Users of the Notify LPD function must also register their information (name, address, contact information and ICE contact details) with their LPD prior to opting into the Notify LPD function on the app. This will allow the LPD to cross-check information in case a non-response alert to LPD is generated by Paws QuiVive.
*PQV does not charge any LPD to become a PQV service user.
